The successful Candidates will be afforded an opportunity to enrol in an external Unemployed (18.2 B1) Three-year Learnership programme leading to the selected qualification as a qualified Artisan.
Available Anglo-American Learnership:
- Learnership Fitters x 4
- Learnership Rigger x 2
- Learnership Electricians x 2
- Learnership Boilermakers x 3
- Learnership Measurement Control & Instrumentation x 1
Our Three-year Artisan Learnership Program is an enrichment program for the community and will enable you to develop skills with classroom and on-the-job/core training at Amandelbult Mine.
This Program will enable you to maximize your potential along with a tailored plan to provide you with a future to make a difference. As you progress through your Artisan learnership program, we will help you discover your actual capability and develop your skills as an Artisan.
Training Programs for Artisan Learners will consist of the:
- 1st year: Institutional training at ESTC, Engineering Skills Training Centre.
- 2nd year: On-the-job/core training at Amandelbult Mine.
- 3rd year: Complete trade test
Qualifications:
The following are the minimum entry requirements into the programme:
- Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with a minimum 40% pass), or
- N2 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline Requirements or
- NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass
Trade Test Requirements
A minimum of N2 Subjects/ certificate with applicable subjects for the relevant trade as specified.
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Relevant Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics, Engineering Drawings or Plating Structural Drawings
- NCV Level – 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass

Learnership Conditions:
- Must be prepared to work underground and in ‘dusty areas’
- Work in accordance with to work schedule of the area and could possibly involve working shifts
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must pass the relevant psychometric assessment
- Must have a medical certificate of fitness or the ability to obtain one
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English
- A valid South African Driver’s license will be advantageous
