Job Summary
The Mobility Department will be recruiting Traffic Students for the completion of a Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement. This is a twelve (12) month training course which will commence on Monday, 8 January 2024 at the Gene Louw College (GLTC), Brackenfell.
Should vacant and funded Provincial Inspector posts exist after obtaining the Further Education and Training Certificate, individuals may be offered permanent employment against such posts at one of the Provincial Traffic Centres, however, it is not guarenteed.
Successful candidates must obtain their own accommodation while attending at GLTC Brackenfell and will be responsible for there own transport, meals and accomodation fee for the duration of the 12 month course.
Students will be subject to the code of conduct of the College as well as competency requirements of the College; Students will be required to undergo extensive physical training, whilst at the College.

Minimum Requirements
- A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) with Mathematics, Mathematics literacy, English and a additional language with 50% or higher pass mark.
- Valid motor vehicle license (manual) code B (learners licenses will not be accepted.
- Applicants must be under 35 years of age
- Applicant must be medically and physically fit, pregnant persons will not be considered.
- No criminal record
- Visible tattoos (hands, arms, upper chest, neck or face) and body piercings (except females with one piercing in each ear) will disqualify an applicant as this will not compliment uniformity in a uniform wearing environment.
Recommendation: One year or more driving experience will be an advantage;
Key Performance Areas
Trainees must successfully complete the further education and Training Certificate Road Traffic Law Enforcement. Adherence to the terms and conditions of the signed 12 month contract for the duration of the training program which includes practical deployment on a 24/7 shift system when needed.

Competencies
Good written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Province; Good interpersonal and public relations skills; Ability to work under pressure; Assertive and confident personality; Ability to work in a team and independently; Report Writing skills.
Remuneration:
A training stipend of R5,000.00 per month will be paid monthly for the duration of the training period.
